Re: Text thread

I made a 'Beyond the Pit' folder in the above link and uploaded the document as a PDF and DOC, plus the Palatino and Moria Citadel fonts used. Currently working on the art.

Re: Text thread

The Beyond the Pit article is almost done. Where do I send/upload it?

Also, I'm going to try and sort the art out for it too. Hopefully finished soon. :-)

Re: What's Next on the Horizon for AFF2e?

Hopefully it won't take as long as Return to the Pit! What it looks like so far: Chapter 1: Intro. Using pre-existing skills/talents/rules plus 6 new archetypes. DONE Chapter 2: Treasure generation system including new Creature Treasure Table (treasure split into Coins, Gear, Treasure, Magic), plus ...

Re: Text thread

I was thinking of working on the Monster/Pit section this weekend. Something suitably weird, epic, and non-canon: CHAOS DRAGONS! Specifically, Yellow (acid breathers, swamps and marshes), Orange (wind breathers, deserts and wilderness) and Purple (mutant-plague infectors, chaos wastes, deep jungle, ...

Re: What's Next on the Horizon for AFF2e?

Thanks for the responses and offers of editing! :-) Once it's done, I will take you up on them. It will hopefully be the first in a series of magic compendiums (maybe a little bigger than the Herbal but smaller than Beyond the Pit) Some answers to questions: The items are from the first 10 books in ...

Re: Defining Medicinal Potions

Ironically, I'm currently working on a magic items book for AFF which will have a summary of all the Medicinal Potion/Blimberry Juice info in it. In fact I'll be adding entries on all Sorcery! components, as for example, you can Green-Furred Wigs in RAP and YAP spells but in the original FF RPG ther...

Re: Does anyone know of any maps of Chalice?

Hi Damian,

I don't think there's an official map of Chalice. The best place for info is Titannica here:

https://fightingfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Chalice

I also found 2 fan maps (based on Port of Peril, which has the most Chalice info) on FB here (by James Kail and Dave Gillson)

Hope that helps! :-)

Re: Text thread

Any particular monsters we want to see for the Pit section of this issue? Tempted to go completely non-canon and do something totally new for some obscure corner of Titan.

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)

I'm happy to help out too, doing whatever. I can do a OOTP section or a background section, or whatever, really. Let me know what you want me to do. :-) Don't do solos - they're huge and intensive. Fighting Fantazine does them and there should be a new issue of that coming out soonish. (There was al...

Re: The Tables in the Herbal

Hi, yep, the Herbal Distribution tables were intentionally designed as 3d6 bell-curve tables to mirror the Encounter Table format in Out of the Pit and Beyond the Pit. Generally, the rare/dangerous/valuable monsters/plants should be the most difficult to encounter. Obviously, if you're only using th...

Re: Out of the pit 3

Glad people like it! I had a lot of fun writing it, but there were times when I wasn't sure it would be finished. In the end it took 3 years to write and added up 125K words, of which 20K was the Ultimate Monster Index, so almost double Beyond the Pit. The damage thing - for both books I just went w...
