Absolutely amazing! If used in a campaign it would be cool to be given the sceptre at the start, so your weapon powers up with time

It's been a while since I read it so this is all from memory, but as a whole I don't think you need to see it as a railroad. When you have an adventure where they start at A and need to get to B to do something, there's nothing wrong with it detailing what they'll face taking the shortest route bet...
