Re: Magic points

Welcome to AFF!

Only Magic - Wizardry.

Don’t worry, you’re not the first one to ask that!

Re: Sensational Atlas of Titan

You’ve summed it up nicely. It’s the same in real life. You can walk in a village in the North of England, Belgium, South of France and then middle of Italy. They all have the same basic objects and locations: family houses, roads, cars, people walking around, fields outside the village etc. But the...

Re: Error? Village size in Manor book

Thanks for that, I spotted two small typos as well. You want me to send those over to you as well?

Error? Village size in Manor book

In the new manor book I was wondering if there was an error in the village size table on page 23. It says 1d5 for tiny. Is this meant to be 1d6,1d10,1d10/2?

Apart from that great book! It’s whole game in its own right.

Re: The Domesday Campaign Book I

Just got it today so looking forward to any updates. At first glance it looks great but it’ll be a while until I’ve read through it all!

Re: Sensational Atlas of Titan

I’m aware that this is mammoth task, and perhaps a little over ambitious 😉. But I’m happy to see that I’m not alone in seeing some potential value in it. To try and make it more manageable I’m going to try creating things for more general locations and then narrow in on some of the canon locations. ...

Re: Sensational Atlas of Titan

Nice resource and I think I’ll be giving it a try 🙂 But it’s not quite what I was imagining. I mean a series of descriptive sentences which if you hear them with your eyes closed really project you into the location. Instead of just describing where somewhere is describing how it feels, smells, soun...

Sensational Atlas of Titan

I was just looking at Dr Bargle’s blog and came across a wonderful idea: A Sensational Atlas. http://drbargle.blogspot.com/2020/01/a-sensational-atlas.html?m=1 We often go looking for maps but this is a whole new take on the idea of an atlas. Instead of saying where places are it describes how it fe...

I'd forgotten about those Salamonis and Azzur's Palace maps and illustrations he'd shared. Really beautiful work.
Any idea where I could find these maps?

Re: Where can I find a detailed map of Allansia/Titan?

One of the things I like about Titan is that there are no detailed “Canon” maps. It gives a lot more freedom for creating your own spaces without having to keep thinking about it fits into everything else.

Re: Learning Minor Magic spells

I just had a look back through the archives and indeed this solution comes up several times. Apparently also in a document from Graham clarifying some points in AFF but which is no longer on the website. Also found a long list of additional minor magic spells from Sid Lloyd as well which is nice. I ...

Re: Reaction table

Thanks for the suggestion, I was leaning in that direction but it’s good to have a confirmation. The SA rules for social interactions are shorter than AFF but include a larger sliding scale for 8 reactions ranging from Infatuation to Hatred. A success moves you one point in the right direction, crit...

Learning Minor Magic spells

In the experience section it says that we can learn new Wizard spells at 20x Magic Point cost and skill (including the magic ones) can be increased by one with 20 experience points. When you take Minor Magic it says you get three cantraps per point of minor magic to start with and then three every t...

Re: Reaction table

Thanks for the feedback, I still need to play with this a bit. I like the idea of larger modifiers and keeping the number of modifiers small. The idea was to promt gm’s to not make creatures too 2D: Goblin = hostile= grrrr mindless attack, Elf = Friendly = automatic help. In the books there are a ra...
