Re: Advanced Fighting Fantasy 2 coming Spring 2011
I was randomly looking at the oldest posts and saw this. AFF2 has its 10th anniversary this year!

Re: Magic Masks
It does seem like a lot but permanent magic items are supposed to be rare in AFF so when one costs only gold (as opposed to do, time, risk to the heroes or anything else) it should cost a lot. Maybe instead of gold, the mask maker can set the heroes a dangerous quest to find a certain amount of a ra...

Re: Good Necromancy Spells?
On the note of good vs evil, necromancy spells are mentioned under the TVTrope informed wrongness - something everyone in the work thinks is wrong but the watchers/players can't see what the problem is. After all, it doesn't seem inherently evil to blow someone up with a fireball, but draining their...

Re: Assassins of Allansia Gamebook
Assassins of Allansia seems very Ian Livingstone. You are being pursued by the assassins (strong combat opponents) and have to kill the right number of them (each assassin has some token and you need to collect the right number of them to show that you have killed all of the assassins), there are lo...

Helpful books and audiobooks for Maelstrom
I'm trying to listen to all the audiobooks that I've downloaded but never got around to. I have a few history books that I downloaded to help with RPG and gamebook stuff. Here are some that I think will be interesting. I'm listening to an audible book called The Other Side of History. It covers dail...

Re: Port Blacksand
If you have the original Dungeoneer! The second adventure is primarily in Port Blacksand and it's sewers. The first adventure is shorter and a prelude to the second one. Also, the original Blacksand! Has an adventure in Blacksand. The third book, Allansia! Is not set in Blacksand. City of Thieves co...

Re: Best solo book authors to convert to AFF adventures
Thinking some more on this, the biggest question for the designer when converting a FF gamebook to an AFF2 scenario is how closely to try to stick to the plot. But the gamebook you're working on has a lot to do with that. Take Sorcery for example. Large parts of the gamebooks are quite linear and r...

Re: Stellar Adventures
Does anyone have any Stellar Adventures "short bytes" they would like to go into the fanzine? I'm looking for little things such as any aliens, scenario plot hooks, spaceship images and descriptions. Anything really that you would like to see in print. Also, do people want a separate forum for SA? ...
