Re: Out of the pit 3

Graham,
I wrote you an email asking if we could cut a deal with a discount for the softcover of the Return to the Pit, since I previously purchased the PDF of the same, but I guess the email was lost in the shuffle. Is this something negotiable?

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)

we might be able to include fan adaptations of gamebook adventures to multiplayer AFF adventures - though I think we might want to get approval from the Powers That Be for such adaptations, even if they are 100% unofficial and not-for-profit. This would be ace. Adapting the settings of the gamebook...

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)

* Special Skills, Talents, monsters, magic, etc. in the gamebooks not yet covered by the AFF2e products. * a How-To on the development of a gamebook (the pitfalls, technical advice, techniques, etc.) * statting out popular characters in a variety of media into AFF2e terms (early Classic Traveller us...

Re: AFF Kai Lords

They would likely be far too over-powered. One would have to limit the abilities of a new Hero and then slowly permit more skills/talents/etc. in the course of development, IMO.

Didn't Joe Dever design the Kai after the Jedi?

Re: AFF should be more popular

My first acquaintance with RPGs was just about forty years ago. DnD was the only one of any import back then ( Tunnels and Trolls and Traveller were still naught more than ghostly, intermittent ground-clutter on the radar, and the others had even lesser visibility). Gamebooks -- one of the g...

Re: Out of the pit 3

Late last night I bought Return to the Pit, Travels in Arion and the Stellar Adventures weapons/equipment book from DriveThruRPG. After having skimmed through them before the sandman caught up with me, they look great. 8) I await for their availability as POD, and then I will snatch up some hardcopi...

Crown of Kings Appendix?

When perusing my AFF2e folder this morning I noticed a curious thing: when I purchased the Crown of Kings PDF, it must have come with another file labelled "CrownofKingsAppendix.pdf (1 kb)". However, it cannot be opened (defective? corrupted?). Is this something that has been updated and corrected, ...

Re: The Tables in the Herbal

I've gotten the impression, since buying the books and PDFs, that the authors weren't aware of probabilities (whether linear or bell-curves) and other tables seem to reflect that. E.g. the main rulebook's Oops Table and the Fumble Table is another bell-curve centred on "Hero slips and is off balance...

The Tables in the Herbal

Was it intentional that the 3D6 tables in the Herbal should be bell-curves? E.g. in the table "HILLS and MOUNTAINS (Allansia)", because on 3D6 (the average being 10.5) the results "Spear-Root/Lemongrass" and "Softwood/Abundance Nut" will occur far more frequently than any of the other results. Conve...

Re: Out of the pit 3

It is a wonderful book, the creature write ups go way past just describing them and are full of inspiration for plot hooks and the world of Titan. Well worth the wait and going straight to the top of my reading list. I guess the next logical move will be to eventually merge OotP, BtP and Pit-3 into...
