Re: targeting hits

Compelling a target to surrender his arms would be more likely than the possibility -- however remote -- of disarming a target with a missile and not wounding the target himself. YMMV. However, if your campaign is capable of such 'cinematic' events then, it would be possible (after player announceme...

Re: targeting hits

I make my players take another shooting test and if they pass they hit the desired part, otherwise its random. I like that a lot! From the book: MISSILE COMBAT SITUATION MODIFIERS Small target, -2 Very small target, -4 A small target would be head, hand, foot; a very small one would be eye, or betw...

Re: Sp. Sk. rank as multiplier for damage

I bit. Well, let's hope it didn't bite back. It's odd that a Sp. Sk. rank improves one's ability to strike a target successfully, but not to grant any increase to damage. After all, it's about doing damage too. Instead of a multiplier, perhaps a lesser bonus: Sp. Sk. Rank.....damage...

Sp. Sk. rank as multiplier for damage

I don't know if anyone else has hit upon this idea, but I was considering using the rank in a combat Special Skill as a multiplier for damage rolled. For example, Bob the Barbarian has 4 ranks in Brawling. He is using a dagger to attack a monster. If successful, he is able to do 4x whatever is rolle...

Re: Stellar Adventures reviews

Just got my hardcover in the post today. I wasn't expecting any packages, and was on the verge of calling for a bombsquad. Almost. It looks really nice. I look forward to reading it in hardcopy.

On a sidenote, has the PDF for SA been updated of late?

Re: Advanced Fighting Fantasy Minis!!!

I wasn't aware there was going to be a BtB II! If true, good news.
I'll throw some more suggestions for titles into the fishbowl:

Slightly Adjacent to the Pit
Dangling Precariously Over the Pit
For Pit's Sake!
Pitted Against the Pit
Test Your Wit Against the Pit

Re: Borrowings from The Dark Crystal movie?

I've got the novel and will reread it, and I had seen the movie in the theatre when it came out (FWIR, the theatre was virtually empty -- it didn't fare all that well with audiences and critics, tragically). I would like to make a setting reference document that ties in the game-mechanics of AFF2e, ...

Re: Stellar Adventures

It occurred to me today that the game 'Stars Without Number' would be a good resource for SA. The basic rulebook is free and if memory serves is chock full of cool setting design ideas. It is a terrific resource with lots of superlative random generation tables for planets, planetary cultures/govt'...

Re: The Titan Herbal Kickstarter is now live!

I think I'll just sit this KS out and get the pdf when it's ready to be bought on Drivethru. When I tried to fund the Stellar Adventures KS my bank screamed bloody murder as they forbid the transfer of funds outside of the country, and it took a trip to the bank to sort things out.

Re: SA Ship Questions

I had some ship questions: 1.) How much does fuel, repairs, maintenance, and crew cost for a ship? 2.) What happens if a ship can't afford maintenance or get it done? Depending on the exact game the above questions may not be an issue vut for others this will be. That's the kind of minutiae-crunch ...
