First impressions....

I really want to see what it's like, compare to 1st edition, and run Warlock for my birthday.
And each day it resolutely refuses to arrive.

Someone tell me what I'll love to keep me warm through the long night, as I sit, twitching, with my fingers curled about imaginary books that haven't arrived yet.

It has pre generated characters...
He just sits there tapping away all day on a tiny screen. But he tells everyone that he is slaying Orcs.

Sunday night. Was dispatched Monday afternoon, I was sure it would arrive today. The post is normally quick.
Normally when I buy stuff from the UK, I use a service that uses a UK address, and then couriers the stuff to me. This is cheaper than normal postage costs from the UK.
This time I just decided to pay the extra to ship it direct.
Turns out that takes longer than the convoluted way.
Ah well, live and learn.

Tomorrow. Definitely tomorrow...

I'm in a nostalgic daze for Fighting Fantasy at the moment. Replaying Warlock, Deathtrap Dungeon, Citadel of Chaos and Clash of Princes over the last 2 weeks.
I used to cheat a bit when I was a kid. I've discovered it's much more fun to play them straight.

So, yeah, I'm really looking forward to checking it out :)

No, I ordered it from Games Lore in the UK. I'm next door in Ireland. I didn't think of checking here before I ordered. So you'd recommend ordering straight from Arion in future?

I hasn't been too long I suppose, I'm just being impatient.

I should have guessed from the name. Dun Laoghaire Rathdown is crawling with O'Kamikazes.
I grew up in Dublin, but I guess I'm a culchie now. I've lived in Waterford for the past 15 years.

Any idea what Irish cons are like recently? I haven't been to one in years (busy with Kids and College), and I was thinking about going to them again.

It's awesome.
Nostalgia overload. It looks great.
And Warlock includes Vignor Firestorm and Haldar Eriksson as pre-gens :D

Can't wait till the kids are in bed so I can have a proper look :D

lol have fun, I know its not everyone's cup of tea but I have really enjoyed being able to go back there and run a party through. Its taken ages due to real life things getting in the way but that hasn't bothered me at all. Its also allowed me to ponder what might happen after ( Further caves to explore or linking in to where Caverns of the Snow Witch starts, which I want to head to fairly soon after this ).

I'm having trouble putting into words how impressed I am with it.
It fixes the issues I had with dungeoneer, looks simple, comprehensive and flexible.
It not only looks like a great FF rpg, but a great general purpose light Fantasy RPG.
I image it will replace Labyrinth Lord\BECMI\Swords and Wizardry and Delving Deeper for my light Fantasy rpg games.

I'm reserving judgement until I actually run it next week, but as this is a first impression thread, my first impression is;
I love it.
