The ZED Spell

Postby LordArioch » Sat Mar 18, 2017 12:38 am

Has anyone used this mysterious, Big Red Button of Doom spell in their campaign? If so, how did you elaborate on the details and effects?

My only sorcerer quit the group after a few adventures, but I would have made it be tailored to the location.

We haven't had a Sorcerer yet but I know our Wizard would roll roll if his character dies. Others might too, it will be interesting to see how they work.

It WOULD be funny
He just sits there tapping away all day on a tiny screen. But he tells everyone that he is slaying Orcs.

Try modern day New York it worked well many years ago in my WHFRP game. And for added fun place their arch enemy there too, but have them arrive several months earlier so they have adjusted. MY Partys p enemies were well settled in by the time the pcs and their npc party members landed there .There then followed total carnage as each npc was picked off usually in style one by one the highlight being my own character who was dispatched with a missile launcher used by a Dark Elf Assassin.

It is actually a great trick to allow playing time travel.

I am seriously thinking about using the ZED spell now, I have been mulling over whether I can use D101 Games 'Savage North' for a while and this might be a way without messing with either setting too much. Its just a matter of indecision over whether I want to make it fit into the Icefinger Mountains or blur it up a little and have it alike but not alike. Transporting them to a very similar but not quite their reality could add the theme of 'How do we get back home?' (If they want to).

It'd certainly be a way of transporting the PCs to a "Titan 40K", using Stellar Adventures - I imagine Titan's future would be more of the gonzo space fantasy of the original Rogue Trader than the po-faced grimdark of later iterations, mind you.
