AFF should be more popular
Re: AFF should be more popular
Do you have a list of tweaks? I'm sure you could source a few from the forum? Shall we make a thread on tweaks?

All in all, great news! The future is looking bright.
Shame about the cross-licence promotion and cooperation situation. But hopefully as AFF continues to grow, the other licensees will become more keen to jump on board.

Just wanted to introduce myself (Andrew Eddie) as I'm the software developer who is working on the ruleset. I'm an Aussie living in New Zealand for a while and I've been writing software as a career for coming up on 20 years, and for fun much longer than that. If any of you have heard of the Content Management System called Joomla, that was my baby for quite a number of years. I've worked at all ends of the industry, for myself as a lone consultant, for eBay, and currently for a company in Australia that specialises in helping rusty old business systems talk to each other to give employees a seamless mobile experience.
Progress is a bit patchy, mainly due to the very steep learning curve for the Fantasy Grounds backend (must work out what we can do to fix that), but also because their documentation is dated and incomplete. But what would a software project be without some sort of challenge
That said, I'm thrilled to be working with Graham on this. I have very fond memories of reading Fighting Fantasy as a teen so this is quite an opportunity for me.

Hi Andrew and welcome to the forum! Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labours

Re: AFF should be more popular
That is exciting news, both for making the game more appealing to people who might buy it and the opportunity to add corrections and tweak the rules a little. Personally I like the look of the current books because it reminds me of the FF gamebooks. But games like The One Ring and the remake of Dragon Warriors look amazing, and I can see that sort of treatment for AFF increasing sales. The decision not to try and do a new edition is also a solid one, there's no need for it.bottg wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 10:49 amwe will be collaborating with Robert Schwalb (one of the biggest names in gaming) on a new version of AFF, which should be a full colour glossy hardcover with new art and so on. The rules and text will be broadly the same (some tweaks, clarifications and rearrangement) but it will look very different.

Cant wait

I forgot the password to my old account and the "Recover Password" feature seems to be broken.
Re: AFF should be more popular
I have played many, many systems and AFF is by far the best out of all of them. It blends the depth to make interesting scenarios with the simple ness for many new players to understand (something other famous systems lack). Its lack of classes allows people to make whatever characters they feel like and not be bound by a class system (I love how this has no classes. I despise classes in most settings).

Hi all, sorry I haven't been checking in recently (RL issues featuring a poorly old doggie have had me rushed off my feet the last month or so).
And, well! Everyone's been very busy lately. Reading this thread has been quite a ride!
The future looks bright for AFF, and I expect that KS will lay claim to my wallet when it kicks off.
