Originally written in 1984, this classic RPG was an early trailblazer for UK roleplaying, influencing (it is said) both WFRP and Ars Magica. This game was set in the Tudor era, and featured "normal" PC classes such as butcher, labourer or even beggar!
The magic system was particularly innovative, eschewing set spell lists for a freeform magic system, morphing reality. So the more likely it is to happen, the easier it is to do with magic!
The book is a complete game with rules, setting, character creation, a Fighting Fantasy-like solo adventure and a multiplayer adventure.
Unfortunately, despite selling a vast number of copies, no follow up was ever published by Puffin. At least until Arion Games secured the license to republish it!!
